Golf homes across the country's championship communities, with Casa de Campo and its three Pete Dye courses at the centre of the practice.
A Country Built Around Its Courses
Across the Dominican Republic, golf communities set their homes along the fairways, from Casa de Campo on the coral coast at La Romana to Cap Cana and Puntacana Resort & Club in the east.
Pete Dye's Teeth of the Dog opened at Casa de Campo in 1971. Jack Nicklaus followed at Punta Espada in Cap Cana, which opened in 2006, and Tom Fazio at Corales, Puntacana Resort & Club, in 2010; P.B. Dye designed La Cana and La Estancia. The Ministry of Tourism counts 27 golf courses across the country.
For a buyer, that history matters less than position. Two homes on the same course can differ in view, privacy and exposure to carts and roads, and each community sets its own rules on who may play. This page is organized around those questions.

Golf at Casa de Campo
Casa de Campo is where my golf-property practice is centred: three Pete Dye courses and 63 holes inside one set of gates.
Teeth of the Dog, with seven holes on the Caribbean, reopened in December 2025 after a complete restoration led by Jerry Pate Design; the resort describes it as the No. 1 course in the Caribbean. Dye Fore has 27 holes, seven of them on the cliffs above the Chavón River, with views toward the marina and Altos de Chavón, and The Links winds through the resort grounds.
The resort reserves tee times at all three courses for registered guests, villa owners, residents and their accompanying friends, and does not currently accept outside play. Owning a villa does not by itself settle membership, rates or the use of every club facility; those follow the resort's current terms and should be confirmed for the specific property.

Three Courses, Three Settings

Golf-front
A home on the course gains the fairway view and the open space, and takes on what comes with it: golfers passing, cart paths, maintenance traffic and, on some holes, stray balls. Which hole, which side and how far from the tee all matter.
Interior & condition
Interior homes trade the fairway view for privacy and, often, a quieter street. On either, condition carries weight: a recently renovated villa and an original one nearby appeal to different buyers and are priced accordingly.
Access is property-specific. Buying in Casa de Campo does not automatically include a golf membership, unlimited golf, preferential green fees, a particular membership category or the use of every club facility.
The Country's Other Golf Communities
Each community sets its own terms for owners. Where published rules stop, the purchase documents have to fill the gap.

La Estancia
La Estancia Golf & Country Club has its own 18-hole championship course, designed by P.B. Dye through the Chavón River Valley. Golf access, membership requirements and any property-specific privileges should be confirmed in writing for the individual home.

Playa Nueva Romana
West of La Romana, PGA Ocean's 4 has 27 holes by Maverick Golf, an 18-hole par-72 course and a 9-hole par-27 course, with four holes along the Caribbean. The developer presents it as the only course in the country affiliated with the PGA of America. Owner access terms and green fees should be confirmed with the developer for the specific home.

Cap Cana
Punta Espada, a Jack Nicklaus Signature par 72 opened in November 2006, plays eight holes along and over the sea; Cap Cana cites Golfweek's ranking of it as the best course in the Caribbean and Mexico. Cap Cana describes a second Nicklaus course, Las Iguanas, as coming soon, with its first nine open to members. Tee-time access, membership and any owner privileges should be confirmed for the specific development and home.

Puntacana Resort & Club
Tom Fazio's Corales, opened in 2010, has six holes on the Caribbean and hosts the PGA TOUR's Corales Puntacana Championship; P.B. Dye's La Cana plays 27 holes across the Tortuga, Arrecife and Hacienda nines. Corales is a members' club: the resort offers membership opportunities to Corales residents and to homeowners throughout the resort, and its hotel guests play through golf plans.

Puntacana Village & the wider region
Puntacana Village is a residential community whose website states that residents have access to the amenities of Puntacana Resort & Club, golf among them; the terms and any fees should be confirmed for the specific home, and Corales runs on membership. Across the wider Punta Cana region, the right to play a nearby course should not be assumed.
What Golf-Property Buyers Verify
A course may influence buyer demand, but it does not set a price or promise a resale. These are the points buyers commonly weigh, and the ones worth confirming in writing.
- Course position. Which hole, which side, and the distance from tees and greens.
- View. What the home looks onto today, and what could change it.
- Privacy. Sightlines from the fairway, neighbouring homes and paths.
- Cart-path and road exposure. Traffic, noise and stray balls.
- Distance from the clubhouse and from the community's daily amenities.
- Membership and access. Included, required or optional, and at what cost, under current terms.
- Renovation level. Recently renovated, or original.
- Lot size, and what community rules allow to be built or extended.
- Condition. Roofs, systems and the effects of salt air.
- Comparable sales. What similar homes actually sold for, not asking prices.
- Community fees. Resort, association and maintenance charges.
- Rental rules. What the community and the resort permit.
- Insurance and upkeep. Coastal and hurricane cover, landscaping and pools.
Golf position may influence buyer demand. It does not guarantee appreciation, rental income, a faster sale or any particular return. The legal checks are set out in the buyer's guide.
Tournament Golf
PGA TOUR at Corales
The Corales Puntacana Championship is a PGA TOUR event played on Tom Fazio's Corales course at Puntacana Resort & Club. Stefano Mazzoli won the July 2026 edition at 20 under par.
The Latin America Amateur
Founded by the Masters Tournament, The R&A and the USGA, the Latin America Amateur Championship has been played at Teeth of the Dog three times, in 2016, 2019 and 2022, and Casa de Campo was chosen to host the inaugural LAAC Academy, scheduled for 3–9 August 2025. The championship's winner receives an invitation to the Masters Tournament.
Future host venues are announced by the championship organizers; none is assumed here.
